Bio

Helen is a composer making music for media. Her style is most commonly contemporary classical, using violin, piano and voice.

Mixed with electronic undercurrents and ambience, her music spans from mysterious documentary underscore through to classical pastiche.

 

Helen is classically trained, studying at The University of Manchester. She writes for short film, documentary and library.

Helen's work includes feature documentary EVA and Lucky House for BBC Arts. Helen won Best Sound Design at London Film Fest International 2023 for EVA. 

 

Helen has library tracks distributed across BMG music libraries, for ClearWave Music and Mediatracks, with placements on channels including Sky Sports, Deutsche Welle, Tagesschau 24, Arte France, Phoenix TV and 3sat.

Helen mentors for Co:Pilot The Musician's Mentoring Network run by Help Musicians and the Ivors Academy.

Helen is a member of Bafta Connect, Women in Film and Television and Alliance for Women Film Composers. Helen has recorded podcasts for Polyphony Arts 'Music Works' and Women in Production Music.
